Frequently asked questions

What dice notation does this roller support?
Standard tabletop notation: any combination of dice and modifiers like d20, 3d6+2, or 2d8+1d6-1. It also supports keep-highest and keep-lowest (2d20kh1, 4d6kl3), the shortcuts adv and dis for D&D 5e advantage and disadvantage, percentile dice (d%), and Fate/Fudge dice (4dF).
How do I roll with advantage or disadvantage?
Type adv or dis — they expand to 2d20kh1 (roll two d20s, keep the highest) and 2d20kl1 (keep the lowest). You can add modifiers too, like adv+5 for a +5 check with advantage.
How do I roll D&D ability scores?
Use 4d6kh3 to roll four d6 and keep the highest three — the classic ability score method. The dropped die is shown crossed out so the whole table can verify the roll.
Does it work for games other than D&D?
Yes. The notation is system-agnostic: percentile dice (d%) for Call of Cthulhu and other BRP games, 4dF for Fate and Fudge, d6 pools for Shadowrun-style systems, and any custom die up to d10000.
