Why the free tier is this generous
A relationship map is only useful once it has your whole cast in it, and nobody builds that under a node limit or a countdown. So the map is free and unmetered: unlimited campaigns, unlimited NPCs, factions and locations, and every relationship type.
Pro is the layer you reach for when the campaign is already alive — the sheets, secrets, journal, quests and timeline that turn a map into the thing you actually run sessions from. If you never need that, the free version is genuinely all you need, and that is fine.

- Is the free plan really free forever?
- Yes. The relationship map itself — unlimited campaigns, unlimited nodes, all five node types and eight relationship kinds, the dice roller, generators, initiative tracker, player-safe share links and JSON import/export — is free with no account and no card. It is not a trial and it does not expire.
- Do I need an account to use the free plan?
- No. The Spider's Web runs entirely in your browser and stores campaigns in local storage. You can open it and place your first node within seconds. An account is only needed if you buy Pro, so your licence can follow you between devices.
- What do I actually get for $10 a month?
- Pro is aimed at running a campaign week to week rather than sketching one: character sheets and portraits on any node, secrets you can hide from players, a session journal, a quest tracker, the session planner and campaign timeline, a relationship history log, node grouping, custom tag colours, and one-click PDF export.
- Is the annual plan cheaper?
- Yes. Annual is $99 a year against $10 a month, which saves about 18%.
- Can I cancel at any time?
- Yes. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe and can be cancelled whenever you like. Your campaigns live in your own browser, so cancelling never deletes your data — you keep everything, minus the Pro-only fields.
- What happens to my campaigns if I stop paying?
- Nothing is deleted. Your campaigns stay in your browser and you can still export them to JSON at any time. Pro-only features simply stop being editable until you resubscribe.
